Christian Hurttienne Architects specializes in multi-family, restaurant, and small-scale commercial building design through the adaptive reuse of existing structures, as well as new construction. We believe that a person is a reflective product of the environment that they inhabit, and it is our role as citizen architects to create design solutions that improve the current social condition through architecture.

Sustainable building practices are a central component to our design process. We feel that our built intentions are only successful if our buildings are environmentally conscious and minimize the impact they have upon the natural environment.

Our services include preliminary, schematic, graphic, and interior design - which are further refined through design development and contract administration documentation. We pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of building assemblies, and the broader construction industry. This allows us to translate our experience in owning and operating our in-house construction firm, Christian Hurttienne Construction, into providing exceptional construction and contract administration services.

We bring many years of experience with the principals of the firm actively participating in City of Detroit activities, the American Institute of Architects, and personal entrepreneurial initiatives. Our collective goal as a firm is to provide a well-rounded approach to architecture and design within Detroit and beyond.
